There are pressing climate change issues that need to be addressed right now, but we also need to take a longer most sustainable look at our future. Our circumstances today call for adaptive and resilient models which can equip communities to face environmental challenges. On the other hand, it’s essential to support work at the intersection of urgent need and lasting impact.

Over the next decade, India will face many new ecological challenges that will affect millions of people across the country. And we see the anthropogenic impacts on biodiversity and its effects on livelihood. We hope to support a healthy mix of work across the environmental spectrum; at the intersection of urgent need and lasting impact, as well as work that takes a calibrated set of medium and long term bets.
We have been a bedrock supporter of ATREE, the pioneering research and policy institution in environment and ecology, as well as helped Dakshin Foundation, build its body of work in marine and coastal ecosystems. We support the work of the Keystone Foundation in the Nilgiris, systems thinking for the environment through the work of DESTA, nature and wildlife conservation of critical ecosystems through the Nature Conservation Foundation and Sahjeevan.
