PAAR advocates for Open Prisons, a reformatory model that promotes life in a fully
functional social environment, focusing on reformation and re-integration instead of retributive
punishment. Their work includes research on prison manuals, court judgements, government
notifications, and field research on prison conditions. PAAR works closely with the High court,
CMs office, Police Headquarters, and the Prison departments of states to improve the
conditions of prisons, even creating material for the training of judicial officers and personnel
from prisons and correctional systems.
